i haven’t tried the peel with anything other than pizza but it does a great job of picking up pizza and sliding it onto a stone. my peel arrived with a missing clip and so i posted feedback to the superpeel folks who responded and sent new clips. needless to say, i’m happy about both the product and the service.

This is the first baking peel I have ever used, so I cannot compare it with anything else. I selected it because of the overwhelmingly positive comments on this site – and was not disappointed! If you choose not to use the cloth “conveyor” feature (though I highly recommend it!), the peel can be stored as a display object for, in its native state, the wood is beautifully crafted. Setting up the cloth conveyor was easy. The design is simple and elegant, and the technical instructions brief and well-written. I use the cloth conveyor to place foccaccie onto oven baking stones – the flatbread easily slides off the peel’s cloth which, as the oil and cheese of my breads falls onto it, washes well. Without the cloth, the foccaccie also easily slide from the bare wood onto the baking stones, though because the wood is so beautiful, I hesitate at this point to do anything that might damage it! Highly recommended.

The Super Peel is everything advertised…and more. Although the exercise was probably good for me (not to mention entertaining for onlookers), I do not miss the spasmodic “shake, rattle, and roll” required to get any type of dough off the old ordinary peel and onto the pizza stone. There is now no doubt whether it will land on the stone or on the oven door. Thanks to Exo for a well-made product that works exactly as described.

I’ve been looking at the Super Peel for a while now and finally took the plunge a few weeks ago. I’m very happy with the results, rubbing a little flour into the cloth really lets even the most sticky of doughs just slide off without needing disposable parchment paper or corn meal that can change the texture. Even if the “Super” part of the Super Peel doesn’t appeal to you (no pun intended) the fabric “conveyor belt” can be removed and I’ve found the peel itself to be very well designed. I prefer the surprisingly rare flat-bottomed shape as more natural for placing and removing items and the sturdy wood construction runs much less of a risk of damaging surfaces than the stainless peels also available. Pizza night on my Komodo Kamado ceramic cooker is now a much easier task!

The Super Peel works great. Gone are my days of torn or jumbled up pizzas messed up when trying to get them to the stone. I love making pizzas but there has always been the dreaded “transfers” to worry about. Something was always sticking somewhere. Not any more, the Super Peel works just as advertized.

Another thing – two small plastic connectors (for the cloth) are included and we mistakenly threw them away after unpacking. I substituted clothes pins (which worked ok) the first time I used the peel but knew I wanted the original connectors because I plan on using this thing for a long time. I emailed the Super Peel company asking if it was possible to buy a couple more. I received a reply almost immediately saying they’d put a couple in the mail with no charge – and included a cloth bag to store the peel(I think it’s something new, mine had come with a plastic bag). I’ve never written a review before but this experience got me going.
